This 1956 Chevy is one of the car show
favorites and once you see it….you won’t wonder why. It is owned by Loren Dorstad of Mesa,
AZ. He is originally from Minnesota, but
spent his winters in Arizona and his summers here with his brother….wise man. Loren is a regular here every single Saturday
night.
He purchased the car on EBay from a
gentleman from Utah 3 years ago. It
originally came with a 406, but once Loren got his hands on it, he had it bored
out and went completely thru it and now he has a 409 small block. The car was then repainted by Gamez out of
Apache Junction in Arizona. Once it was
repainted, his friends wife wanted to guess the color of Loren’s car, she took
one look at it and proudly stated,
“Eggplant and Eggnog”….I am thinking she wasn’t too far off!
Loren has owned many, many classics in
his life. He has had a 55 Chevy, 76
Rivera, 67 Grand Sport, and 64 Chev….not to mention the many others that I
personally do not have the space to fill. When I asked him which was his
favorite, he had to think about that for a minute…then he grinned…55 Chevy that
he has when he was a kid….it wasn’t his favorite back then, but now, looking
back. Definitely. When I asked him what he paid for it he
stated $17,100. Someone got a steal. This car is truly one sweet and very fast
ride. Make sure you get over to check
it out. Loren, I personally LOVE this
car!!!
